About the Sunset Challenge

The Sunset Challenge Triathlon/Duathlon, (formerly the Sunset Sprint), is the Bridgeton Exchange Club's annual fundraiser. It will be held July 19, 2008, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, and it will be co-sponsored by the City of Bridgeton.

This event is a USAT Sprint Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship race. The Challenge will feature the longer Olympic distances of a .9 mile swim at Sunset Lake; a 24 miles round trip to Historic Greenwich, New Jersey; and will end with a 10K run through Bridgeton's City Park. The triathlon distances are a .5 mile swim; a 16 miles bike and a 5K run. Duathlon distances are a 2 mile run; the 16 mile bike; and ends with a 5K.

After the race, an awards ceremony and the popular post-race 'Pasta Party' are held at the Salvy Blandino Midget Football Field. All racers and spectators are treated to delicious pasta salads, locally grown fruits and vegetables, bagels, Tasty Kakes and other refreshments.

• 5:45 AM to 7:30 AM - Registration (Packet pickup, numbering) - Salvy Blandino Midget Football Field, Stadium Drive, Bridgeton. Same-Day Registration closes after on-line registrations are filled.
